Many people believe this—even scientists whose job it is to pursue precise and exact information. Some go so far as to say, "The more ignorant a person is, the more positive he is in his opinions, and the more belligerent in believing that any doubt of what he thinks or says is a grave injustice against him and an insult to the intelligence he has not got."

In this life with our limited mental abilities, we can truly say that there a lot of things we can't be sure of. We do not even know if we will be alive tomorrow.

But on the other hand, if a person feels he or she can say with impunity that there is no such thing as an absolute, isn't that point an absolute in itself? Can we be absolutely sure that there are no absolutes? If there are, don't we absolutely need to find out what they are?
