Home and childhood are the developing grounds for our behaviors. Growing up with brothers and sisters, learning how to act among adults and being told "no" by someone who meant it all added up to forming modes of behavior in us. When we are grown, we ought to have had the "rough edges" of our behavior rubbed off—but the refinement can take more time.

The way we think and/or feel does affect our behavior, and we can always be learning how to make changes in our thinking to properly control our emotions and actions. Change is a choice, and we must do it (Philippians 4:13).
