Problem solving is a challenge that can be character building. Farmers are constantly challenged by changing conditions of weather, soil or the market. All people have decisions and choices to make. Progress is good, but it is tenuous. We solve one problem only to find another facing us.

Life is like that. Job—who faced one of the biggest trials in the Bible—stated that life was short and full of trouble (Job 14:1).

Fearing problems, however, causes an even greater problem. We need ingenuity, determination and experience to solve big problems. We acquire them by solving smaller problems.

It's like math—the more problems you solve, the better and more efficient you become. And who knows? In the process, you might even grow to like it.
