Swedish wrestler Ara Abrahamian was stripped of the bronze medal he earned during the Beijing Olympics when he dropped it in protest, violating the spirit of fair play during the medal ceremony. This man probably spent years of hard work to get to the Olympics and come in third—but through the combination of one bad decision and a lack of emotional control, he threw all of his hard work away.

We are all faced with daily decisions that can affect the rest of our lives. That is why we need a steady hand in our lives, along with wisdom far beyond our own. James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

What a marvelous promise! God is ready to listen to and help you through any struggles you might be dealing with. All He asks is that you "ask in faith, with no doubting" (James 1:6).
