We are often taught to hide and control our emotions, and that advice is good up to a point. There is a time and place to express our emotions, and there is a time to control them. Emotions are tied to our wellbeing somehow. Weeping can be good, and shouting for joy can also be good. Golda Meir stated, "Those who don't know how to weep with their whole heart don't know how to laugh either."

When Jesus was asked which commandment was the greatest, He replied by telling us to love God with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind (Matthew 22:37). That means not holding anything back. That does not mean uncontrolled and rampant emotions—it means a strong and healthy display of what is within. God has emotions. He can be full of wrath, full of love, full of joy or full of anger. Jesus wept (Luke 19:41). He also groaned in agony for us. Be thankful for our emotions and use the right controls over them.
