What was one of the most fearful things that faced the sailors of old? The doldrums.

The doldrums are a part of the ocean near the equator, where intense heating of the land and ocean causes significant calm or baffling winds.

When sailing ships were caught in the doldrums, the wind would disappear and they would lie helpless for days and perhaps weeks, waiting and hoping for the wind to begin to blow.

Sometimes life can put you in the doldrums emotionally. You may be down, feeling dull, perhaps not very motivated or even lethargic. Are you adrift in the sea of life? It doesn’t have to stay that way.

There are solutions and even promises to help us sail past the despair. Make life work better by learning how to navigate to fresh air and cool blowing breezes.
