There are some exceptions, but generally the children of the famous have not learned the vital lessons of life that made their parents great. They may not have learned to understand the common man. Palaces are places where the great are pampered and spoiled. Even the children of great men God chose to lead did not always serve God as their parent did.

Samuel was a special product of God and lived in the temple area. His sons did not have the values of their father (1 Samuel 8:1-3). King David was a shepherd boy and the greatest King Israel knew even though he had faults (1 Samuel 16:11). His son Solomon was born in the palace and became king after his father, but failed to walk as David walked and failed as a king (1 Kings 11:4). Jesus Christ was born in an inn and lay in a manger (Luke 2:7). Let's look to the example of Christ as a great leader to follow.
