Feeding the birds can be a great source of joy. Watching them as they vie for the seeds in a bird feeder is sometimes funny as they push each other out of the way and exercise their claims on territory.

But when God cares for us, we never have to fight over His provision. He never runs out or forgets about us. It brings to mind an old Gospel song based on Matthew 10:29:

I sing because I’m happy
I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He’s watching me.
