We will always find chores and tasks that we would rather not do. We can avoid anything strenuous or challenging if we try hard enough. The trouble is that we never develop the zest and spirit for living. When we learn to roll up our sleeves and get busy, success is sure to follow, and with that comes a sense of accomplishment and the sure knowledge that we can do things.

People who have learned that life includes difficult and easy paths to follow—and who do not shy away from the hard paths—will soon find that they can master the hard paths. We grow in strength and ability with each challenge we face. Jesus faced many challenges in His life and many rejections, but He encouraged us to follow Him because His yoke was light and easy (Matthew11:29-30). He also said that those who follow Him must face hard things. Face them now and when they come, and there will be nothing impossible (Philippians 4:13).
