They are like an ox led to the slaughter or one with an unexpected arrow in his liver (Proverbs 7:21-24 Proverbs 7:21-24 21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
22 He goes after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life.
24 Listen to me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
American King James Version×). No person in their right mind would pick up a hammer and intentionally bang himself in the head with it. Infidelity and cheating are hammers that do far worse damage. This damage lasts a lifetime and may cost a person their eternal life. It is not worth it.
