Knowledge is what we have placed into our minds from outside sources, and all too often one is quite pleased with himself for knowing so much. Without love, which is an outgrowth of wisdom, knowledge is not enough. Wisdom resides within the person and comes from experience and observation. It can be man-made, or it can be that which meets God's standards.

Wisdom is not the same as knowledge. It goes a step further. Wisdom is humble because it knows how little it knows. The Bible encourages us to ask especially for the wisdom that is from above (James 1:5, James 3:17). That wisdom is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield and bears good fruits. That wisdom surpasses knowledge, but when combined with knowledge it becomes more than enough.
