Most of the time we are able to gather facts and information and make good decisions for ourselves, but there are times when we end up wondering what in the world made us choose as we did. We may use the old expression "bone head" for some of our thinking. Uncontrolled emotions like anger, infatuation, fear or jealousy often drive us all to do or say unwise things.

A person who can control his emotions has a great inner strength. The Bible tells us anyone who controls his anger or emotions is better than the mighty or one who takes a city (Proverbs 16:32). We can learn lessons from the unwise things we do as long as we admit our actions were due to a lack of self-control and determine to do better. We can learn to be wise.
