The old adage tells us not to put all of our eggs in one basket. That saying was born out of the problem of losing everything in one fell swoop. It is wise to place our savings in a carefully chosen variety of investments. Varying our efforts to improve our current status is a principle that has the best chance of giving a solid gain.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 gives the good advice to sow your seed in the morning and in the evening, because you can never be sure which of the two will be most successful. Sometimes both are equally successful. Keeping our eggs in more than one basket allows us to have success in one if the other fails—or to have success in all the baskets.
