Many have heard the old adage that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. It seems true in life that when we make enough noise, we do get attention. Some people crave attention and thus have developed the habit of making noise. Another saying is that the worst wheel on the cart makes the most noise. That, too, seems true in life. One of the most dreaded sounds the driver of a car can hear is the noise made by a flat tire. That spells trouble that needs immediate attention.

In our jobs or personal lives, we may be a squeaky wheel that is satisfied with just a little grease. But when a wheel no longer works well, it becomes the worst wheel of the cart and needs major repair or replacement. Hebrews 13:5 advises us to learn to be content with the things we have. When we are content with the attention we receive, we also have stability to seek the solution to our noises.
