What a stupid cat!

Our house had a screened patio—a perfect place for a cat to watch the assorted wildlife in the yard. Instead this cat spent hours staring at the side of the house. A week went by and he continued to stare.

He had my attention. What was so fascinating? I, too, began to stare, examining every square inch. Everything looked like it belonged there. Finally I spotted it. It was three feet above the ground. It was hiding under the shakes. Only a tiny spot was visible between two of the shakes. However, it was a very large snake…well worth staring at!

Have you ever noticed how our sins can hide? Sometimes they are right in front of us, but we cannot see them. They just blend in and look like they belong there. Only by slowing down, stopping and thoroughly examining our lives can we see them. Are we too busy to stop and stare?
