A person who cannot be trusted is sometimes called “two-faced.” This phrase implies dishonesty and deceit. Instead of being truthful and open about all things, two-faced people try to please everyone with their words and actions.

We must trust people in order to have deep relationships. It is a blessing to meet those who show us that they can be trusted. Christians are taught to have their word be uncorrupted. “Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’” wrote James (5:12).
