We often tend to look upon appearance and make a quick judgment based on a first impression. It is quite normal to do this—but we can be prone to error if we do.

Jesus tells us not to judge a person by his or her apparel (Matthew 7:15). It is what is in the heart that really matters. Nice clothing, a good physique and appearance only have value if inside is a quality person. That takes time to discern. Look again. The inner clothing of character is not immediately visible.
