Chronological Life Application Study Bible NLT

Several months ago I was searching for a chronological Bible to use for my daily Bible reading. I wanted to read the Bible in the order of which the events occured, not in the traditional canonical arrangement. My search also led me to wanting to read a harmony of the books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles. While searching, I found that I also wanted to read the epistles of Paul in the order that they were written. I thought I was going to have to buy three or more books or types of Bibles. In an online search I finally came across the Chronological Life Application Study Bible (New Living Translation).

This study Bible had everything I was looking for and a whole lot more. So far I'm in the book of Job (its the second book listed in this Bible) - and after reading Genesis and parts of Job I have gained many new perspectives on these scriptures that has helped me understand events and the people mentioned so far. For example, there is much to learn from the servant of Abraham - Eliezer - and how he was a true servant depending on God (Genesis 24). There are many insights that this study Bible presents through commentary, charts, graphs and the simple to read New Living Translation of the Bible.

Here are some of the features of this Chronological Life Application Study Bible (LASB): Canonical Table of Contents, Chronological Survey of the Bible, Timeline Graphs (World and Biblical events), Notes, Maps, Illustrated Verses, Parallel Passage Indicator, Archaeological Notes, Personality Profiles (this is really helpful), Dictionary/Concordance and much more.

The editors of this study Bible wrote this in the Introduction to the Choronological LASB:

"God gave us the Bible as a collection of 66 individual books, not a chronological rearrangement of those books. While helpful as a tool for gaining insight in the meaning, message and significance of Scripture, a chronological Bible is not a substitute for a traditional Bible".

If you are looking for a new study Bible, I would recommend this one. Its not a Bible that you will carry with you everywhere. It is a good study Bible to begin your day with as you read the words of God and listen to what He has to say for a better life now and in His coming Kingdom.
