Happy Sabbath from snowy Spokane, Washington!

The Light's are up north this weekend for the Spokane Ski Weekend - now that we have a teen in the house, he has expressed interest in attending these weekends to get to know more of the teens in the region and to see his friends from camp.

This is the 20th year for the Spokane Ski Weekend, so since 2000 - the Spokane brethren have been hosting this get-together and facilitating fellowship among brethren.

Fellowship together is such an important aspect of this calling. Koinoia as the word is described in Greek implies not just the fellowship that we have with one another, but the fellowship that we have with God. In some ways - our drawing closer to God, and exhibiting His characteristics enables us to draw nearer to one another.

The Apostle John wrote in 1 John 1:6-7, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

As we draw nearer to God, we are able to better draw nearer to one another, the more we will desire to be with one another. The more we will spend time and enjoy our time with one another.

The Sabbath is a wonderful time for us to experience Koinonia. To develop those relationships and build them with one another. I hope you have a wonderful Sabbath--and that your Koinonia with one another is encouraging and edifying.
