  • Mariah Sattler (North Canton) – Feeling better and no gastritis pain for the past week! Thank you for your prayers!
  • James Guy Sr. (Youngstown) – From Jimmy Guy: Dad came home from the hospital Tuesday evening! He is feeling 100% better. Able to get up and walk around, he even walked barefoot in the front yard! Thank you to everyone for your prayers. They are sincerely appreciated!

Ongoing:

  • Lynn Coleman (Cambridge) –Lynn (wife of Paul) was finally able to come home after a prolonged, lonely stay at the Wheeling hospital convalescent center (no visitors due to Covid-19). Her doctor has diagnosed her with the Stevens-Johnson Syndrome--a type of severe reaction to medications. It causes a burning sensation in the hands and is quite uncomfortable. Please add this to your prayers for her overall healing.
  • Linda Ritter (North Canton) – Linda would appreciate prayers for kidney and liver health, and improvement in her hearing and hearing aid performance.
  • Jenny Luchitz (North Canton) – Feeling poorly with the dramatic weather fronts that come through at this time of year. Please pray for encouragement for Jenny and lessening of aches and pains.

3.      PENANG, MALAYSIA Feast site Cancelled for 2020

With the current uncertainty over worldwide travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and after consultation with the members in Southeast Asia, the Festival Planning Team in Australia has made the difficult decision not to conduct an official Feast site in Penang, Malaysia in 2020. The members in South East Asia are still looking forward to the Feast this year, and they also eagerly anticipate restrictions being lifted with the hope of resuming a full Feast site in Penang in 2021.

6.      CAMP IRONWOOD and CAMP BUCKEYE – Cancelled for 2020

We are very sorry to report that we will not be holding "Preteen Camp Ironwood" this summer. We have looked at many different options and camp models that we could use to be compliant with the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control, and found that it would be very challenging to comply with all the guidelines and the governor's directives. Making adjustments to the camp program to comply with youth and summer camp guidelines would change the way the camp program is run and would not facilitate the close relationships and fellowship that campers and staff have had in the past. We also understand the uncertainty of the spread of the coronavirus and realize the safety of our campers and staff is of utmost importance. We will miss you and and pray for God's blessings on you and your family. We sincerely appreciate all the parents and staff as well as the home office and our legal advisor, who worked with us as a team to help arrive at this decision. We look forward to next summer when our camp family of campers, teens and adult staff are back together again.

-- David and Jolinda Schreiber, Directors, Preteen Camp Ironwood

Len Martin, Camp Director for preteen Camp Buckeye, has reluctantly made the decision to cancel the camp for 2020. Due to the many restrictions and regulations regarding Ohio summer camps, Mr. Martin indicated that it is "pretty clear that we would not be able to provide the wonderful camp experience our children have come to expect and enjoy. Therefore, I believe it is best to announce the cancellation of Camp Buckeye 2020, now, so families can have time to make other summer plans." Please make plans to attend Camp Buckeye in 2021!

7.      UNITED YOUTH CAMPS – Teen Friday Night Bible Discussions

UYC plans to sponsor six Friday night Bible discussions for our teens beginning June 26. Camp directors will pre-record a 45-minute interactive study using the theme from Ecclesiastes 12:1, "Remember Your Creator in the Days of your Youth.” Following the viewing of each video, the teens will be divided into breakout groups of 10-15 people on Zoom. Teens will then discuss the Bible Study topic during a moderated discussion portion. Further details will be in the eNews next week.
