SABBATH ANNOUNCEMENTS & REMINDERS

United Church of God, an International Association

North Canton & Youngstown, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Wheeling, WV Congregations

Youngstown –1 p.m.                Pittsburgh – 10 a.m.

North Canton – 2 p.m.             Wheeling – 2:30 p.m.

Greetings brethren,

After an inspiring Pentecost last weekend, we can contemplate the next annual holyday, the Feast of Trumpets, coming early this fall. Each of God’s annual holydays pictures the next step in His plan of salvation for mankind. When understood clearly, God’s Word is very clear about the prophetic meaning of His feast days.

But summer is now before us. We have more time to observe God’s creation up close in our yards or even driving through the countryside.

Reflect on the fact that none of the creation “evolved,” that’s why it’s called “the creation.” Every minute, genetic or other detail was designed and set in reproduction-after-its-kind motion by divine power. Every plant, every creature—no matter how large or microscopic—is reproducing according to God’s laws of biology.

While savoring the physical, meditate even more so on the spiritual laws that Christ and the Father set inexorably in motion and by which we strive to live our lives. As King David wrote under inspiration, “O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me” (Psa. 119:97-98, KJV). God’s blessings to all on this fine Sabbath!

Keep the true faith—and spread it,
Randy Stiver, Pastor
