Greetings brethren,

Finally, we have some cheerful news regarding the Covid-19 epidemic!

This Sabbath we are commencing Sabbath services in the Wheeling church. We don't expect a full house due to some with other health issues remaining home a little longer. But with God's blessing it's a start for our four churches—and we are very thankful for that.

Plans call, tentatively, for re-starting Pittsburgh next Sabbath on the 27th. Finally, on July 11 we're looking forward to powering up the North Canton congregation, and hopefully Youngstown as well. We are taking wise health precautions. Bring your face mask, social distance and warmly greet each other (verbally please!), and please pray for those still dealing with health issues.

This has been a dry spell fellowship-wise. But you know, that really helps us appreciate our common bond through God's spiritual calling and His Spirit working in us to draw us closer to God and to our beloved brethren!

Most of us will commence our usual Sabbath schedule... get ready for church, drive in air-conditioned comfort however many miles and then you're there! Take some time to imagine getting to Sabbath services in Paul's and Peter's day. Most of us would have...walked a few blocks or a few miles. You may have had to detour around neighborhoods that persecuted the Church—and would be most unfriendly to you. Getting to and from church could have often been a serious ordeal.

By contrast, for most of our lives in the "truth" we've had great convenience. But all it takes is an active epidemic like the coronavirus, mix in some serious social unrest, and suddenly keeping the truth and living God's way of life takes on new and greater value in our minds and hearts!

Please remember our brethren needing our prayers for healing, comfort, protection, or provision. And carefully savor God's blessing of His holy Sabbath day!

Your pastor,

Randy Stiver

(If you notice that your prayer request needs updating, please drop us an email or a call with an update. Thank you!)

  • Death of Lynn Coleman (Cambridge) – It is with much sadness that we announce Lynn’s death on Friday. A longtime church member and faithful example, she courageously battled ongoing health trials for some time. Please keep her husband Paul and extended family in your prayers.
  • Jenny Luchitz (North Canton) – Hospitalized after a fall this past week. Being in the hospital with no visitors during the COVID-19 situation can be very discouraging. Please pray for Jenny’s healing and encouragement during this time. Please send your thoughts and good wishes via her sister, Rhoda Gabriele.

  • Linda Ritter (North Canton) – Linda would appreciate your continued prayers for overall health improvement.
  • Janice Walters (North Canton) – Recovering from a fall down the stairs. Prayers for a quick recovery are greatly appreciated.
  • John Williamson – John, son-in-law of Louis and Carol Petit, continues his fight with cancer. Please pray for his healing and strength for his wife Lisa as she copes with the stress.

3.      TROYER’S HOLLOW WEEKEND – June 27, 2020 – Next Weekend

We have received confirmation that the Troyer’s Hollow campout is open! Nestled in the scenic hills of Amish Country near Charm, Ohio, we will be once again having weekend of camping, bible study and Sabbath services.

The campsite is an outdoor activity where social distancing and other COVID-19 protocols are easy to maintain. However, as an additional precaution, we ask everyone to take their temperature and self evaluate for COVID-19 symptoms such as coughs, shortness of breath, sore throat, or contact with an infected person. If you exhibit any of these conditions, we ask you not to participate.

We have rented property from Friday through Sunday. The property has covered pavilions, nicely maintained bathrooms and shower facilities. Activities planned include a Friday evening Bible discussion around campfire (appropriately distanced), and an outdoor Sabbath Service (weather permitting).

We will not have a potluck, so we ask that everyone bring their own food and drinks for the weekend.

If you have concerns or are a person in a known risk category for COVID-19, you should not attend. This is a voluntary activity, not a commanded assembly.

Fees to cover property usage:

Campers: $25 per camper/ $35 per family per night

Non-campers: $10 per person / $20 per family per day.

You can arrive on Friday the 26th starting at 3 PM. Nearby hotels are open and available for those who do not wish to camp. Alcohol is prohibited on the property.

If you wish to come, or just have questions, please contact Mary Miller (, 330-204-6972) or John Miller at 330-283-4447.

4.      UNITED YOUTH CAMPS – Teen Friday Night Bible Discussions

UYC plans to sponsor six Friday night Bible discussions for our teens beginning June 26. Camp directors will pre-record a 45-minute interactive study using the theme from Ecclesiastes 12:1 Ecclesiastes 12:1Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;
American King James Version×
, "Remember Your Creator in the Days of your Youth.” Following the viewing of each video, the teens will be divided into breakout groups of 10-15 people on Zoom. Teens will then discuss the Bible Study topic during a moderated discussion portion. Further details will be in the eNews next week.
