Difficult People

Happy Sabbath from Ft. Lauderdale

As we approach the Feast of Tabernacles, we need to remember to be lights to the world.  As we travel to the Feast or when we check into our villas, people will see us and wonder who we are.  Let our example answer for us, not just our words.  Let them know that we are Christians without us having to say it.

It is not always easy to be a Light.  There are some people that enjoy making everyone else miserable.  They feel that they need to win at everything, which means they want you to lose.  We also have co-workers or frenemies that are jealous of us all year but especially at Feast time.

How can we deal with difficult people and difficult situations?

Look at yourself.  Are you being friendly?  Proverbs 18:24 says, “A man that has friends must show himself friendly.

Avoid people that are dedicated to showing you hate.

Pursue Peace (Mat 5:9)  Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

Over communicate to close friends.  We often assume that our family and friends are on the same wavelength and that they know what we are thinking.  That causes us to under communicate and then we get frustrated when they don’t understand us.  More miscommunication happens with Family than with strangers.

Don’t try to get even Rom 12:17 – 21

Remember John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Have a great fall Holy Day season and I look forward to seeing you all again this week.
