Greetings brethren!

What is the future of the human race?

According to the bible it is eventual extinction.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

When this happens any flesh and blood left on earth will be destroyed. The only thing left will be that which is not physical but is composed of something else...a substance we call “spirit”.

There’s only one way to become spirit and that is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way. That transformation can only come through the power and spirit of Christ. But that transformation STARTS while we’re physical. It starts with repentance from sin and a deep desire to do and be good.

2 Peter 3:11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

What manner of person? A good person. A kind person. A faithful person. A loving person. A holy person. We are to be a people that look toward the future and yearn for a day when we will be like our Lord Jesus Christ and be with him as spirit creations.

2 Peter 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Brethren let’s never forget that our life on earth is temporary and fleeting. Our hope and our future belong with Christ.
