Greetings Brethren!

Despite the weather last Sabbath’s Combined Funshow in Sikeston had 51 attendees! This included a group from another Church of God fellowship in Arkansas. There were a large number of children present which really made the day special.

What was the most encouraging to me was the high level of participation and preparation by everyone there. It seemed that everyone there was doing something to make the occasion special for everyone.

It reminded me of Ephesians 4:16...the body of Christ was working effectively together and causing spiritual growth and the building up of love within the body.

I think it’s fair to say that many went far outside of their comfort zones. Trying new things is often the only way that we can discover what God has blessed us with. After we find what we’re capable of God will then use these gifts and talents for the benefit of all.

Dianne and I want to personally thank each and everyone that made the day special. This includes everyone who brought equipment, helped with the service, helped with the potluck, helped with the preparation, watched or participated in the fun show and helped with cleanup. We also want to thank those who weren’t able to make it because we know that your thoughts, prayers and positive attitudes also helped to make it a success!

In other word God used everyone to make sure we could have an event that fed us spiritually and physically.

Dianne and I will be in the Paducah and Henderson congregations this week with exciting news from a regional conference of ministers that we returned from last night. We hope to see you there!

Take care and see you soon…

Doug
