Greetings Everyone!

I wanted to remind everyone that this Sunday marks our observance of the day of Pentecost, one of the Lord Jesus Christ’s holy days.

This day more then any other has come to represent the church of God. In scripture Pentecost is associated with the “first fruits” of the grain harvest.

Exodus 23:14  "Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year:

Exodus 23:15  You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty);

Exodus 23:16  and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field.

In other words there is a first harvest of grain and later in the year there is a larger harvest.

Christians today are the first harvest...the first fruits...of the Lord God. We are the “first” to have the indwelling spirit of the spirit of God.

Romans 8:23  Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

There is a larger harvest of humanity in general in the future. When that harvest comes there will be a LOT of work to do. WE will have a lot of work to do. Recognizing the magnitude of t he labors ahead this is what Jesus said:

Luke 10:2  Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Brethren the laborers are STILL few. We need to make it a routine part of our prayers for the Lord God to send the people he is calling to our congregations. We also need to pray for each other...that we continue in the labor that he has given us to do.

Take care and see you soon!
