Pastor's Corner - December 27th, 2019

It's hard to believe that we're here.

The final Sabbath of the calendar year of 2019, the final Pastor's Corner for 2019, and the end of an experiment to see whether I could actually keep up on a weekly email/congregational post for an entire year.

I am thankful to report that we made it. They may not have always been worth reading, but tonight's Pastor's corner marks 52 for the past year. One full year's worth. There are some things that I want to continue to tweak to make it more effective, potentially toying with the day it goes out, or considering different topics, perhaps series of topics to make it more useful to you all.

The primary impetus behind this was to have a chance to reach out and to connect, and to hopefully help inspire everyone to study into something further, perhaps inspiring someone to examine and to appreciate a concept or event more fully-- but mostly, it was about another connection with the brethren outside of Church services.

I have appreciated the occasional email responses with additional thoughts, or comments--it is nice to know that it's landing somewhere and being read and digested.

I hope that they have been of value for you, and that you have gotten something out of at least one of them. They will continue into 2020, and hopefully with time, improve to become even more useful to you.

Psalm 119:105 states that God's Word is a lamp unto our feet, a light unto our path. Examining the world around us through the lens of God's word is an exercise that we should all be involved in - but one that helps us to make better sense of the world around us. When we consider the news, or history in the light of God's Word, it helps us to better understand what God is doing in the world around us.

In that vein, thank you for your patience as we iron out all the kinks and get this up and running on all cylinders.

With love,
Ben
