This coming Sabbath we plan to wrap up our study on the Epistle of Philippians by
completing chapter four.

The session will begin at 1 p.m.  I will be moderating.

Please plan to be on time, so we can all begin on the same page together.

Prep Notes

We will briefly, very briefly re-sketch Phil. 4:4-8 to open the curtain on our study, as
we then proceed to focus on verses 9-23

Let's remember that this Epistle is a "Prison Epistle" which sets the tone for everything,
especially as we wrap this portion of the Word of God.

Again, from this unique setting the term "joy" or "rejoice" is used over 16 times in its content.

It's essential to understand what joy truly is!

The bookend verse effect of this 1st century message is held up on one end by Philippians 1:6 and on
the other end by Phil. 4:13 & 19

In between these bookend verses we come to see 3 elements of "fellowship" (intimacy)

Our Fellowship in the Gospel-1:5
Fellowship of the Spirit-2:1
Fellowship of Suffering-3:10

In between these two sets of pillar'bookend verses of Philippians we see another word cropping up--"mind/ minded"

2:2, 2:5, 3:10, 3:15, 3:19, 4:2

One other major word that will guide us to understand the concluding remarks of Paul in Chapter 4 is "stand"

1:27, 4:1

Use the above as guides to understanding the significance of Philippian's concluding verses. This epistle is written
in a very systematic manner that builds to a personal & needed conclusion for all followers of Jesus Christ for all ages.

See you on this coming Sabbath,
