Panama City Beach, Florida 2011
The Edgewater Beach Resort will again host the United Church of God’s Feast of Tabernacles site in Florida. Immediately adjacent to the coastline, this famous resort provides a comfortable, impressive and exciting stay for everyone. Most rooms offer a great view of emerald green waves crashing against sugar-white beach sand. This captivating scenario offers a soothing retreat for soaking in the sun, reading a good book, fishing, building sand castles, playing volleyball and throwing Frisbees. Have your cameras ready at sundown; the sunsets are simply spectacular!
Edgewater’s 110-acre gated community incorporates an array of activities and amenities to provide a memorable Feast. This unique property has 11 swimming pools, 12 tennis courts, 11 shuffleboard courts, four hot tubs, a tanning salon, gift shop, game arcade and full-service restaurant. A complimentary tram service is available for transportation throughout the resort area and includes transport for Feastgoers from the oceanfront towers to the meeting facility via an overarching bridge. The proximity of the towers to the auditorium allows the option to take a short, pleasurable walk to services. Everything is within walking distance, but for those who prefer transportation, a complimentary shuttle can easily zip you around the entire property.
A significant part of the resort includes very comfortable condominiums within three high-rise towers that boast spectacular views. The palatial towers serve as an impressive backdrop to the world-famous Emerald Coastline along the Gulf of Mexico. A wide strip of fine sugar-like sand separates the ocean from Edgewater’s famous Lagoon Pool. Landscaped islands and flowing waterfalls meander their way into the 11,500-square-foot Polynesian-style, free-form pool, enhanced with 45,000 square feet of deck space. Several inviting whirlpools and reflecting ponds make this a resplendent tropical area.
The spacious resort extends across and over Front Beach Road. A 10-foot wide pedestrian walkway connects both sides of the resort. The north side of the resort includes the auditorium facility surrounded by golf villas. The nine-hole par-3 executive golf course with nine lakes and several island greens encircles the villas; a complete clubhouse and pro shop rounds out the golfing experience. Additionally, there are 11 plexi-cushion tennis courts— six of them lighted for night matches—and shuffleboard courts in this area. The Edgewater’s health club is a 1,500-squarefoot, state of the art facility, which features cardiovascular exercise equipment, an aerobics salon, and a massage therapy room.
The long-term success of this site depends on members using the housing listed in the Festival Planning Brochure. The low price for the meeting facility saves the Church thousands of dollars each year and Edgewater Resort trusts the cooperation of our members to use the housing listed in our brochure.
