×We are pleased to offer Virginia Beach, Virginia, as a site for the Feast of Tabernacles in 2011. It was awarded the 2011 top ten “Traveler’s Choice Family Award-winning Great U.S. Destinations to Discover” by www.tripadvisor.com.
Good housing, good prices, great restaurants, historical sites, abundant shopping and many different recreational opportunities throughout the area will ensure an enjoyable stay. Church services will be held in the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, which is among the nation’s most acoustically awesome venues for the arts. It is perhaps the highest-quality facility the United Church of God has used for Feast services.
There is a three mile oceanfront boardwalk inviting all to walk, jog, bike ride or rollerblade. Most of the housing accommodations listed below are on the boardwalk. Virginia Beach is home to an aquarium, many museums and many historical monuments. Within a one hour drive are the historical towns of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Norfolk, all of which feature museums and many other activities.
Most of the housing accommodations have kitchen or kitchenette facilities and many are right on the beach with private balconies. All are an easy drive to the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.
The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts (http://www.sandlercenter.org/) is 4-years old and highlights the “town center” area of Virginia Beach. Free covered and uncovered parking is within an easy walk to church services. Next door is the Westin Hotel and dozens of excellent eclectic restaurants and shopping venues surround the Sandler Center.
For those flying in, both Norfolk and Newport News airports are convenient.
