The British Isles Feast of Tabernacles site is in Torquay, Devon, on the south coast of England. The town of Torquay is situated in a large sheltered coastal bay, known as Torbay, which looks out onto the English Channel. The climate here tends to be milder than in other parts of the UK, with palm trees growing locally.
Torquay is a seaside town well known for its harbour and marina, shopping and connections with the writer Agatha Christie. And Torbay is part of a coastline rich in maritime history, including Plymouth, approximately 30 miles away, where in September 1620 a ship called the Mayflower set off for the New World.
The Feast will be held in the TLH Leisure Resort complex, which comprises four hotels and apartments on a single seven-acre site with many shared leisure facilities including a swimming pool, games room, gym and spa (www.tlh.co.uk ).
Feastgoers who stay on-site will be accommodated in the three-star Victoria Hotel and will be eating together and attending services all within the same building, with leisure facilities available within the complex. Bed, breakfast and evening meal are included, unless you decide to stay in one of the self-catering apartments, also available within the Victoria Hotel.
Services will be held within the TLH Victoria Hotel, in the Warwick Lounge. All services will be held in English.
The first night’s service will be held at 8 p.m. The following day there will be a Bible study at 11 a.m., and the afternoon service will start at 2:30 p.m.
Please be aware that, although the hotel is accessible, access to the hall we are using for services is down a set of steps.
