×The 2018 Feast of Tabernacles is once again planned on the Baltic island of Saaremaa. Estonia, the Land of Issachar (Genesis 49:14-15), is located between Russia, the other Baltic Republics, and Scandinavia. Even though Estonia has been largely transformed since the days of the Soviet Union, the crumbling ruins of failed collective farms still emphatically testify to the utter failure of atheistic Communism (Psalms 14:1).
Contrasting with the past, the Estonia of today is an economically developed modern country by multiple “first world” standards.
Reflecting this in many ways is the venue for the Feast—the Georg Ots Spa Hotel (www.gospa.ee), located in a peaceful millennial setting at Kuressaare, Saaremaa. Brethren from more than seven countries are expected giving a great opportunity to share cultures, life stories of unique callings and survival. Residing in the same hotel and eating meals together offers time to bond with each other. Language is no barrier. Most people from the Eastern European countries speak a modicum of English; there is always someone nearby to translate conversations.
No car is needed as there are shopping, sites to visit and restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. If desired, taxis at reasonable rates are readily available.
Location of Services: Conference room of the GOSPA Hotel.
First Service: 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23. All services will be in English with translation as needed.
In addition, we anticipate holding weekly Sabbath services on Sept. 22 in Tallinn. If there is sufficient interest, an Atonement service is also a possibility.
Travel Information and Registration:
Most international visitors will fly to Tallinn, capital of Estonia. From Tallinn to Saaremaa is a four-hour comfortable coach ride (which includes a one-hour ferry crossing) allowing a view of the Estonian countryside. The bus ticket costs 16€ each way. Air flights with a limited schedule and limited luggage weight are also available from Tallinn to Kuressaare two times per day on most days for 52€ round trip. The website for the commuter airline is saartelennuliinid.ee.
If your schedule permits, touring the medieval city of Tallinn (known as the City of Dan) is a very convenient opportunity.
