The Feast site for New South Wales and Victoria will again be held in the small township of Merimbula. Services will be held at the Merimbula RSL Club. We would like to invite overseas visitors to enjoy a very beautiful part of Australia. The site is noted for its friendly hospitality where members hold open house meal afternoons and nights for brethren to mix together.
Merimbula is situated on the southeast coast of Australia and has a relaxed holiday atmosphere. There is a delightful boardwalk with cafes, restaurants and a variety of shops on the bay inlet. Beaches and golf courses are also a popular part of the area along with boating tours, fishing trips, walking tracks and amusement centers.
Costs for accommodation are very reasonable with plenty to choose from, including self-contained houses and apartments. Check www.sapphirecoast.com.au or www.merimbulatourism.com.au for more information. The weather is expected to be mild and sunny with temperatures in the 70s Fahrenheit.
Festival activities will cater for everyone including family, teens, seniors and children plus a Church luncheon on the Eighth Day. After the first Holy Day service there will be “get-acquainted” opportunity over cheese and fruit platters and refreshments. The RSL has a restaurant adjacent to the hall, and the meals are low-cost. Many appreciate the ease of getting together for lunch after services.
For those traveling to Merimbula it is approximately a six-hour drive from Sydney and seven hours from Melbourne. Regular flights from Sydney or Melbourne can be organized through www.rex.com.au.
