×For the sixth year in a row, we plan to have the Chilean Feast site in the picturesque town of Olmué at the Centro de Eventos La Campana resort. Nestled in a lush valley of the Chilean countryside, with panoramic views of the Coastal Mountain Range, it is conveniently located approximately 70 miles NW of Santiago, the capital of Chile, and less than 30 miles from the popular coastal beach resort town of Viña del Mar and the major seaport city of Valparaiso.
Olmué is one of the oldest towns in Chile. It is also a center of Chilean culture and folk heritage, with local shops and restaurants selling an array of traditional handicrafts, foods and wines from the region.
The town is situated near a number of nearby entertaining activities and day trips you can enjoy while taking in the beautiful landscape, including winery tours, horseback riding, hot air balloon rides, mountain hiking and a paintball/rock climbing activity center. Taking a day trip to local beach resorts Viña del Mar and Valparaiso would provide a wonderful opportunity to see the rich cultural legacy of the Chilean pacific coast.
Hiking in this region is a unique and special experience—the La Campana National Park is within walking distance of the Feast site. Named a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in 1984, La Campana contains one of the last remaining Chilean palm tree forests and boasts a summit view of both the Andes mountain range and the Pacific Ocean all at once.
The Feast site is clean and beautifully maintained by friendly staff with an auditorium, restaurant and two pools (one heated indoor and one outdoor) surrounded by picturesque mountain vistas. Services are held in the spacious auditorium with English translation as needed. A very nice on-site restaurant provides a wonderful space for additional fellowship and delicious meals.
This time of year in Chile you will enjoy wonderful spring weather with moderate highs in the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit and cool evenings. The weather and location provide the perfect setting for fellowship and fun—with an introductory show, two Bible studies, a barbecue and talent show, and many church organized activities for all ages.
