FEAST OF TABERNACLES 2019
October 14–21, 2019
Your brothers and sisters in God’s church in France are pleased to welcome you to the Cap Estérel Vacation Village in Saint-Raphaël for the 2019 Feast of Tabernacles in France!
Overlooking the Mediterranean on the French Riviera, the Pierre & Vacances Cap Estérel Village sits on 450 acres of protected natural landscapes and stunning gardens, offering pleasant accommodations, a 4,100 square-foot heated swimming pool with lifeguard supervision, tennis courts, a nine-hole golf course, driving range, hiking trails and a full-service spa. Many recreational activities are also available within a short drive, including scuba diving, kayaking, horseback riding and jet skiing. Please see our Activity Brochures page for informational pamphlets to download.
The Cap Estérel village is the largest vacation village in France with up to 5,000 visitors in the summer months. We will have exclusive use of the 64-room Hotel Cap Estérel at the center of the village, as well as a large restaurant and church hall next to the hotel, overlooking the Mediterranean. The pedestrian-only village is patterned after traditional villages in the south of France, complete with many restaurants, a grocery store, gift shops, bike and Segway rentals and a medical center. For families who prefer an apartment with a kitchenette, such accommodations are also available near the hotel and most have a balcony with a sea view. The beach is a 10 to 15-minute walk on a pedestrian-only walking path, or by a 10-minute miniature train ride which deposits you at the “Plage du Débarquement” – a beautiful beach which was also the location of the 1944 southern Allied invasion. It is also special to note that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of France from Nazi occupation.
In additional to daily church services, Bible studies, and fellowship during the Feast, we will offer three afternoon excursions to nearby points of interest including the “perched” village of St. Paul de Vence, the Principality of Monaco, and the city of Cannes. We also plan for a free day to enjoy activities in the area, a family day, and an evening talent show and dance.
The Feast falls later this year so the chance of rain increases with the region typically receiving an average of four inches of rain in October. Average daytime highs in late October are in the mid-60s (18° Celsius) with lows around 50 (10° Celsius). The Mediterranean Sea temperature is about 64° (17-18° Celsius) in October.
As with prior years, the Feast in France will be all-inclusive and include nine nights lodging and breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please visit the Housing Information page for further information on meal and housing descriptions and costs.
Because the Feast begins on a Sunday evening, we will be offering English language church services at Cap Estérel on the Sabbath before the Feast and a pre-Feast room and board package for those wishing to arrive on Friday, October 11. Please visit the Housing information page for further information on meal and housing descriptions and costs.
Cap Estérel is approximately a one-hour drive from the Nice Airport and shuttle bus transport will be offered to and from the airport for those who do not wish to rent a car.
Registration via the UCG Festival registration site will open Monday, March 4th. Because of the limited church hall capacity, and after taking into account the French brethren who will be attending, we can only accommodate 170 visitors.
