This year, the Feast site for our southern Caribbean brethren will be held on the island of St. Vincent. The island is one of the Grenadines, a 32-island Caribbean paradise. Imagine an island chain (some uninhabited) in the heart of the Caribbean Sea, uncluttered by tourist exploitation, spectacular tropical plants, sunsets that will make you want to plan your day around them, and perfectly clear blue water gently lapping against the shoreline of multi-colored beaches. The Grenadines are known as one of the top boating, snorkeling, and diving destinations.
Accommodation for Feast attendees has been arranged at the Sunset Shores Beach Hotel (http://www.sunsetshores.com), and services will be held in the conference room (air-conditioned) on-site. Sunset Shores is idyllically located on the best beach in St. Vincent, and surrounded by three acres of lush, tropical landscaping.
The hotel is a friendly, family-owned hotel with 32 tastefully furnished rooms, many of which have patios overlooking the ocean. It is a 15-minute taxi ride from the newly completed and very modern Argyle International Airport (SVD), and 10 minutes from downtown Kingstown, the capital of St. Vincent.
Several activities are planned, including an island tour and a boat cruise to Bequia, a neighboring Grenadine island.
This site has a capacity of around 100 people, including locals. This leaves space for 50 transfers. It is expected to reach capacity.
