2015 Feast of Tabernacles Report

Acacia Bay, New Zealand

The New Zealand Feast was held at the spectacular Lake Taupo region on the North Island of New Zealand.

The high attendance was 89. We enjoyed a positive, uplifting atmosphere of brotherly togetherness. People commented that the spirit was wonderfully uplifting as brethren focused on sharing and building family bonds. The many speakers delivered enriching sermons that focused on the purpose of the Feast and our individual and collective responsibilities as called-out-ones to God’s plan. Our meeting place and accommodations overlooked the pristine waters of the mighty Lake Taupo, which is framed by snow capped mountains, lush shades of green vegetation and spring time blooms.

First-time Feast attendee Glenda explained her Feast in this way: “My first Feast of Tabernacles was outstanding. Every day I learned something new about the importance of this Feast, and each day the sermons built on each other, linking so much so that only God could have a hand in the type of knowledge and learning I received. My foundation in God is getting stronger because I know it’s God’s truth and not man’s. How blessed I feel to be with others who love God as much as I do and to celebrate his holy Feasts and special calling. I encourage others to seek God’s truth about his Holy Days. It will change your life.”

What was memorable for me was how the brethren quickly formed a group and prayed for God’s intervention when my husband had a heart attack just before services on day seven of the Feast. It demonstrated the great bond formed over the Feast and the faith of those present in God’s mercy and healing power. I will always be grateful.

It brought home that the Feast is also a time of healing when those who are broken-hearted. Those who are physically and mentally hurt will have peace. “For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 7:17).

God speed the day.
