2015 Feast of Tabernacles Report

Albuera, Leyte, Philippines

More than160 attendees rejoiced together before God at the Feast of Tabernacles and the Eighth Day held at Baybayon Ni Agalon Beach Resort in Albuera, Leyte, Philippines from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5, 2015. This number comprises brethren from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, as well as a few guests from the United States and Australia.

Most attendees arrived at the Feast site a day earlier to make sure they didn’t miss the opening night service. It was a blessing to have three visiting ministers with us as well. David and Denise Dobson spent the first three days of the Feast with us before moving to the Baguio City site. Senior pastor Earl Roemer arrived on day three from the Davao City site and spent two days before moving to the Hong Kong Feast site. Luzon pastor Rey Evasco and his wife Cynthia arrived on day four and spent the remainder of the Feast in this site.

Various activities contributed to the rejoicing atmosphere at the Feast. Brethren enjoyed games, food delicacies, fellowship and friendships during the orientation night and the family day. Talented and enthusiastic brethren showcased their God-given talents, surprising everyone during the variety show. Wild monkeys seemed to enjoy watching the brethren as they went through cave and mountain trails, and zip-lined during the outing activities at the Hindang Nature Park. Brethren were also given some livelihood ideas as Karlo Santos shared his knowledge on mushroom production. During free time, brethren would enjoy simple activities such as viewing the sunset, a talk at the seashore with family and friends, and bonding with friends at the swimming pool. Other activities included seniors night, movie night and a dinner for those serving.

On the fifth day, as activities begin to wind down in preparation for the Sabbath, Rey Evasco conducted a very lively, interactive and lesson-packed youth and singles forum. He also conducted an open-forum Bible study on Saturday afternoon, where brethren were given the chance to raise questions and clarify some biblical issues. We were also privileged to have one child blessed on the Eighth Day. The brethren did not only enjoy the physical and material provisions at the Feast, but also spiritual blessings through the edifying activities and the many inspiring and uplifting messages given by various speakers.

The Feast of Tabernacles and the Eighth Day in Albuera, Leyte, was once again successful because of the wonderful fellowship and the participation of the enthusiastic brethren, the selfless volunteers who untiringly served in various committees, and above all, the divine help from the Almighty God who Himself hosted, appointed and blessed His festivals and the people whom He has chosen to keep them.
