2017 Camp Report

Preteen Nacome Camp

To kick off the week, there was an orientation session with a surprise guest appearance by Jelly followed by campfire songs led by several teen staff.

On Monday campers started off the morning with a nourishing breakfast provided by the Nacome facility staff followed by a Christian living session led by ministerial staff Kevin Kenady. Incorporating this year’s camp theme of “Building a Relationship With God,” Mr. Kenady presented a message about how God desires to have a relationship with us. After the Christian living class, campers headed to their first day of activities, which consisted of archery, kayaking, caving, creek walks, human foosball, gaga ball, air riflery, arts and crafts and a treasure hunt. The evening was finished off with a fun activity of novelty olympics, where campers participated in a number of team challenges.

Tuesday began with another great start with a delicious breakfast followed by a Christian living class given by Gary Petty, who continued the camp theme with a message on how strongly God desires to have a relationship with us. The day’s activities commenced with another series of activities like the day before and then finished off with a movie night complete with popcorn and snacks.

Finishing off camp on Wednesday campers received a certificate for completing the 2017 Nacome Camp session and then signed each other’s shirts. Staff joined in the shirt signing fun with notes of encouragement and thankfulness for making new friends.

Thank you to all who gave of their time and energy to make Camp Nacome a success. Without you and, most importantly, our Heavenly Father, Camp Nacome would not be possible. I pray that everyone has a blessed year and I hope to see you again soon at Camp Nacome in 2018, which is scheduled for June 3-6.
