2017 Feast of Tabernacles

Cartagena, Colombia

The Feast in Cartagena, Colombia, was truly an international Feast site, with brethren attending from Colombia, United States, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Scotland, Argentina, Bolivia, Australia and Canada—a total of nine countries. Of all who were attending, at least 20 were attending the Feast for the first time, or for the first time in more than 20 years.

We were united together as a family with the welcome party on the night of the first day where we danced, played and laughed together. New activities included chocolate bingo for the women and a trip by Chiva to the Parque Espíritu del Manglar (Mangrove Spirit Park)—a park which has sculptures of many famous Cartageneans. Karaoke, talent night and the beach party returned and were enjoyed by everyone.

The blessing of a baby girl and the baptism of two new members into the family of God brought joy to everyone! Other spiritual highlights in addition to daily services were individual Bible studies catered for the children, young adults, and then one for everyone. Scott Hoefker also gave a Focused Education seminar on the subject of “A Sound Mind: Principles From the Word of God.”

Though attending from many nations, we all united in God’s Spirit to experience a time when peace will abound on the earth! God blessed us with peace and harmony as we learned to be patient waiting in line in the restaurant or for the elevators. Conversation abounded and spirits were joyful as we learned to live in unity. All too soon, the Feast ended and we said goodbye. Many brethren would not see each other until the next Feast, but the messages we heard would carry us through until we meet again.
