2017 Feast of Tabernacles

Montego Bay, Jamaica

This beautiful and peaceful location provided a millennial setting with its lush gardens, pools, sandy beaches, walking paths, tropical views and excellent hotel service. About 65 Jamaican brethren were joined by visitors from the U.S., Canada and South Africa to celebrate the largest Caribbean Feast site in the past 22 years, with 505 in attendance.

Besides uplifting messages focusing on the theme of Psalm 8:3-5, sermons gave us distinct glimpses of “making the Millennium more real to us,” often with Powerpoint slides to visually enhance our imagination. On family day, our teens had a special Bible study outdoors with break-out group discussions on “how to rule over our members—eyes, ears, mouth and mind—to glorify God.”

Special music included a variety of inspiring solos, duets/group arrangements and joyful choirs—with 32 participating in the children’s choir! We are grateful to all of those who shared their God-given gifts and talents to serve in this way.

Our Feast family grew with an engagement, four baptisms, a widows tea, hymn sing, interactive Bible study (focused on John 2-3), teen hospitality and other opportunities for fellowship during “day pass” days when the Jamaican brethren enjoyed meals and organized activities on the hotel property.

Many visiting brethren appreciated seeing more of Jamaica by going on various tours: Dunn’s River Falls, Luminous Lagoon, Martha Brae River Rafting, tubing, zip-lining, bobsled/Sky Explorer, snorkeling near Doctor’s Cave Beach and shopping.

Plans are underway to meet again at this location next year, so if you are interested please look at http://caribbean.ucg.org/content/jamaica-2018 for more details and specific dates when you can register.
