2018 Feast of Tabernacles

Kuressaare, Saaremaa, Estonia

The Feast this year was held on the island of Saaremaa in the Baltic Sea, a strategic sea gate of Russia (Genesis 22:17).

There were 40 people representing seven different nations, speaking nine or more different first languages, who held holy convocations in accordance with Leviticus 23. Most people spoke a modicum of English. Two people were keeping their first feast while another three were keeping their 60th or more.

In addition to the Feast video, six local speakers—including Peter Eddington (UCG operations manager of media and communications services) and David Nunn from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma—expounded from God’s Word about the coming Kingdom of God. Central to the messages was the fact that the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains. One message even detailed the dramatic physical changes in a lion’s teeth in order for the lion to be able to eat straw. In God’s Kingdom we will function as kings, as priests, and as judges ruling in a world of peace and abundance with no man left behind.

A special note of appreciation to Marilyn Anderson of Windsor, Canada, pianist and music coordinator, for her services. The soloists and choral members provided excellent special music for every service, which is quite a feat for a small Feast site. A 40-person site needs participation in activities by everyone attending to be optimal. In Estonia, we had excellent cooperation of all guests in serving and in enjoyment.

We are instructed to keep the Feast reflecting the abundance God has promised to all mankind. In a unique way, abundance was pictured in Estonia by sharing a BBQ of hot smoked tenderloin of moose, tenderloin of beef and filet of salmon, all from the local area. A bus tour of the island of Muhu was enjoyed by all on our only rainy day during the Feast. A Hawaiian reception, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Brad Ellis and Sally Noxon, held in the Baltic Sea was a crowning touch.

A Bible study was given by David Nunn on the subject of the role of the Roman Catholic Church in the development of the Bible. Peter Eddington presented a Bible study updating how UCG is preaching the gospel around the world.

Rejoicing is a very natural response toward keeping God’s Feast. Rejoicing can only be manifested at this and other Feast sites by people who understand that they are living out a prophecy, which in time will become a reality. In the light of that truth, rejoicing is a deeply emotional and lasting experience.
