2018 Feast of Tabernacles

Lusaka, Zambia

There were 231 people who attended the festival, from Lusaka, Mwembeshi, Situmbeko, Kasumpa, Nalubanda North, Mapoko, Itumbwe and Chipata congregations. A few came from Choma and Mumbwa.

On the opening night, people had the privilege to watch a short welcome video from Victor Kubik, which was wonderful and exciting. The following morning the brethren listened to inspiring and encouraging spiritual food. The messages talked about the Kingdom of God. It is hoped that the messages preached throughout the Festival touched the hearts of many brethren, and that they opened their hearts for repentance to lead a godly way of life.

Notable activities were the baptism of 16 repented people who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Nine women and seven men were baptized at a place called Pazuri about 5 kilometers from the Feast site. We also had the blessing of little children—about 19 were brought by their parents and we prayed for their blessings. This event ended with special music from the Chipata women, followed by a sermon.

We had an elder’s lunch and walking safari, where elders got to see animals and birds of different kinds. It was an exciting afternoon. Women had time also for discussions and a gift exchange. Family day was an event, which was attended by all, with many participating in sports. The youth were also given time to showcase their talents in preaching, song leading, offering special music, etc.

Overall, the Feast was successful, though there were minor challenges, such as power outages at times. This could have affected our activities, but thank God we had a generator on standby that helped run the pump in the borehole to supply water. The Feast went on up to the Eighth Day without any serious incident. Lastly, we thank the home office, the California brethren and others for their financial support, which brought joy and happiness for all the brethren. It is our prayer that God grants them abundant blessings.
