2018 Feast of Tabernacles

Ogembo, Kenya

The Feast site is on a church-owned property and therefore most of the attendees were accommodated in tents and a few in self-contained four small panda houses constructed on the church land. This is the eighth time the Feast has been held at Ogembo.

The attendees had a wonderful time together and enjoyed each other as they fellowshipped together for the eight days (Hebrews 10:25). For the first time it did not rain, as is the nature of Gusii Land and therefore all had time to sit around the fire late as they fellowshipped. Since the tents used were purchased over 10 years ago, they are not in good shape, so we were thankful that God intervened and it didn’t rain as usual.

Services were conducted in English and Kiswahili, so that all could follow the messages, which were spiritually inspiring. The senior pastor Monte Knudson came to the feast and gave a sermon and a Bible study.

The family day was held on Friday where the children were given special treatment. And there was a special dinner for everyone.

Most food that was prepared was contributed by those who attended using their second tithe and then prepared by professional cooks in the church-owned kitchen (Deuteronomy 14:22-26).

We had very few cases of health challenges like colds and fever, in children, which were handled by the qualified first aid personnel.

The other challenge was that we ran out of water. The main source of water supply is from rainwater harvest and stored in tanks. However, this time the little we had stored was used to complete the building of the panda houses. Therefore, we had to go out to buy water from vendors for the kitchen, bathing and washroom.

In conclusion, all went very well. Most of the attendees have confirmed safe travels back home.

Glory be to God for the success.
