2019 Feast of Tabernacles

Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii

The first message from Jim Tuck on the opening night gave us a vision of how we are pioneers of God’s way of life in advance of the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. Our enthusiasm continued to build as Randy D’Alessandro spoke about how we were called to worship a very special God, be a special people and inherit a very special future.

God supplied a great spiritual feast of messages for His people through to the Eighth Day.  We were privileged to have a number of visiting elders who worked harmoniously to help bring about a good Feast for everyone.

There were many learning activities including a Bible discussion for the teens given by Dan Preston and a young adults and singles Bible study presented by Monte Knudson. A special Bible study was given by Rainer Saloamaa on the subject of “The Building of Solomon’s Temple and His Reign.”

Ken Japhet coordinated special music and the choir and did an outstanding job with performances which enhanced the festival atmosphere.

Our seniors enjoyed a special luncheon in their honor at Royal Lahaina Resort. Johnnie Lambert spoke to the group of 66 with a customized rendition of the Mighty Casey poem. The young adults and singles had a nice get-acquainted reception at the cottage of Monte and Susan Knudson, and Dan Preston organized a visit to the Maui Ocean Center for teens, pre-teens and parents. A special ice cream treat capped off that visit.

The Hawaiian luau was attended by 174 brethren at the Royal Lahaina Luau. Hawaiian dancers and musicians demonstrated some of the music of old Hawaii and Polynesia. During the show the brethren were treated to a spectacular fireworks display on the beach.

Family Day was organized by Matthew and Betsy McDonald and took place on the beach at the Royal Lahaina Resort where brethren enjoyed a picnic with pizza and other treats.

God blessed us with unity, peace and the plan God has for His people. The brethren shared their blessings with the poor of the community by contributing $1,779 in cash to the Maui Food Bank.
