2021 Feast of Tabernacles

Myanmar

By human nature, we did have anxiety just before the Feast due to the unrest of the country. There was a rumor spreading around stating that the Internet would be cut, but we still trusted that God would do the best thing for us.

God calmed our anxiety and miraculously provided us special privilege so that we could gather together via Zoom each day and could learn His word through His servants. This is the second year that the brethren in Myanmar could only meet online for the celebration of the Feast due to COVID-19 and the unrest of the country. We had 6-8 different groups; three different locations in Myanmar, one in Singapore, one in Malaysia, one in the UK, one in France and one in the United States, all meeting online via Zoom.

Aaron Dean sent Feast-related sermons, that were preached by God’s servants in the United States, and which were very beneficial to the brethren in Myanmar. Although the sermons were from the past 2-4 years, all were new to these brethren. We were inspired and edified by all messages we have heard.

On behalf of the brethren, I am also thankful to David Bensinger for his dedication and devoted time for the brethren. He and his family were attending the Feast in France this year. While in France, he spoke and fellowshipped with us for two services. He had prepared two messages at my request for the Myanmar brethren. In his first message he compared the ways ancient Israel kept and how God’s people now keep God’s Feasts, and highlighted the importance of these Holy Days. In his second message, he expounded on the seven seals, the return of Jesus Christ and the Millennium. Mr. Bensinger and I work closely for the United Church of God in Myanmar under the guidance of our senior pastor Aaron Dean. We also share the information with president Victor Kubik and our Ministerial and Member Services operation manager Mark Welch as we also hope to receive more guidance from them.

In conclusion, I especially would like to mention our dedicated and beloved president Mr. Kubik for his kindness, love and care towards the Myanmar brethren. On Friday, Sept. 24, he woke up early and conducted a Bible study for the brethren in Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia and here in the UK at 7:30 a.m. his time.

Apart from our brethren, there were also three prospective members in Myanmar; two in Yangon and one in Sakhangyi, plus two outsiders from a Baptist church joining, so there were altogether 36 people joining this Bible study. Mr Kubik expounded on “The Day of the Lord,” with several related scriptures, giving much understanding to the listeners. We are extremely grateful to him for his time and good intentions toward us. We are also thankful to all who have passed their love and deep concerns toward the brethren in this difficult time.

Brethren were motivated by each day’s sermon throughout the Feast time. Deacon Saw Law Eh was also very active keeping things running smoothly. We all pray for our president and his wife, our Council of Elders and their wives, our ministers and wives, our deacons and wives and for all of God’s people around the world.
