ABC Student Leaders Selected

United Church of God President Clyde Kilough announced the student leaders for the 2007 Ambassador Bible Center school year at the student assembly on Feb. 15.

The student body president is Brandon Zollner, from Collinsville, Illinois. Brandon is a recent graduate of St. Louis University. The secretary is Corin Scherf, a graduate of McKindree College, near St. Louis, Missouri. The treasurer is Devin Schulz, a student from the University of Mary in North Dakota. The class monitor is Andrew Disher from Pennsylvania.

Other ABC class leaders named (and the committees/projects they coordinate) include Jacqueline Evans (Social Activities), Nadia Drown (Service Projects), Rosanna Salva and Ina McLemore (Kitchen Care), Deborah Kalliman (ABC Message Board), Elizabeth Cannon and Eric Breedlove (ABC Times editor and photographer), Sarah Bates, Elizabeth Cannon and Brandon Zollner (music coordinators), Helmut Reiche (Technical Support) and Chelsea Finwick (Drama Club).

The process of selecting the student leaders began shortly after orientation. Gary Antion, Student Affairs officer, explained that the students would ballot on their choices for student leadership positions after the first month of ABC. This allowed the students an opportunity to get to know one another and select from their peers for leadership roles.

The students' choices were then reviewed and approved by the ABC Administrative Team (Mr. Kilough, Jim Franks, David Register, Mr. Antion, David Johnson and Ralph Levy).

The student leaders oversee student activities, including the ABC Times student newspaper, community service projects and fund-raisers, student assemblies, Drama Club, ABC Chorale practices and trips to local congregations. Faculty members serve as advisers and chaperones for ABC activities.

The student leaders are primarily selected from the younger students to provide them with opportunities to develop leadership skills during their ABC experience. Leadership is an integral part of this year's class theme, "Building Godly Character."
