Camp Buckeye

Camp Buckeye will once again begin on the last Sunday in July at the Camp Luz facility in Orrville, Ohio. Our goal at Camp Buckeye is to provide children ages 6-12 with an environment that focuses on living God’s way. We strive to make a positive difference in their lives and encourage them to value time together with other children who are also striving to live God’s way of life, so camper dorms are arranged by age. This helps the children to develop physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, while they live, eat, serve and play together.

We have a variety of activities such as Christian living, archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, court games, fishing, field games, swimming and more. The daily Christian living lessons will center around the overall theme of “Race to Your Crown” and illustrate God’s plan for their lives in three easy-to-remember steps, “Ready, Set, Go!”

We are always looking for volunteer staff who have patience and a strong desire to provide the safe atmosphere that we call “the Zone,” which is critically important to the success of the program. Additional information will be posted at uyc.ucg.org. We tend to fill up every year, so the sooner you apply, the better your chances of being accepted!
