Preteen Piney Woods

We had 26 campers who enjoyed a very successful preteen camp in the Piney Woods of East Texas. We also appreciate the help of 11 adult and five teen staff, along with many of the local East Texas brethren. They all went above and beyond and helped us enjoy the many different types of activities at camp, ranging from arts and crafts, baking and field day to sports like basketball, wiffle ball and gagaball (a variant of dodge ball). Fun water activities included two days of fishing, swimming in the swimming pool, a dunking booth and a slip ‘n slide. The fish were biting left and right as several campers caught more than 20.

Our theme for the camp was taken from Ecclesiastes 12:13: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments,
for this is man’s all.” Our compass checks and our activities were based on this verse. Parents were on hand to see the end-of-camp awards ceremony where each camper was presented a Certificate of Award. The campers also sang two music pieces, “God’s Top 10” and “The Word of God Works.” Thanks to everyone for your prayers, and thanks to our great and wonderful God for his divine oversight.
