The focus of the weekend will be on developing “A Servant’s Heart” through acts of service. We are honored to have as guest speakers Mr. Ben Light, who pastors in Oregon and is a Camp Director at our teen camps, and Mr. Jorge de Campos, who pastors in Kentucky and oversees the Church’s work in Portugal, Brazil, and Angola.
All activities will take place at, or within 10 minutes of, our meeting hall in Plano. Friday evening, we will have a dessert social. At 11 a.m. on the Sabbath, there will be simultaneous Bible studies for adults and teens and Sabbath school. The DFW congregations will then provide a potluck lunch before the 2 p.m. service.
At the conclusion of services, there will be a slideshow honoring graduating seniors. In the evening, a formal dinner and prom will be offered for teens (ages 12-19) at a nearby hotel. Meanwhile, remaining brethren can enjoy pizza, salad, dessert, fellowship and games at our meeting hall. Preteens (ages 4 and older) can enjoy games, story time, a dance party and movie.
From 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Sunday, brethren can play volleyball or board games and fellowship at a local school. The DFW congregations will provide a chili lunch. Guests will need to make plans for their own breakfasts.
There will be fees associated with the prom and Saturday pizza dinner. We will also be collecting canned goods for a local charity. Look for future updates about how to register, as we will need to know how many people to expect!
